Melinda Hipple

Author of the mystery novella Hotel Toledo, Melinda's poems and short stories have appeared in numerous print and online publications such as Encore, Watershed, Hillock, Prune Juice, Tinywords and Lynx, and she has been a regular contributor to Pirene’s Fountain, a poetry journal. Three of her poems were anthologized in First Water: Best of Pirene's Fountain. She was a past editor and columnist for Up the Creek News, and haiga editor for two Japanese short form poetry journals – Notes from the Gean and A Hundred Gourds. In 2016, she was editor of the annual literary magazine Watershed. She has published two poetry chapbooks, Camera Obscura and in a bottle of ink.

Melinda received her BA in creative writing from Baker University. She writes poetry, short fiction, creative non-fiction, and mystery and science-fiction novels. Her non-fiction piece “The Cellar” was the first-place winner of the 2014 Moorman Prize for Prose. Her artwork graces the covers of Floodwater by Connie Post, and Ribcage by Joan Colby.
